Pack 565 Families,

It’s getting close to that time of year: Spring Family Camping! Yippee! This is what the boys have been waiting months for. Spring Family Camping will be the weekend of April 17-19 at Woodruff Scout Reservation. See the attached flyer for some of the exciting activities that we’ll be doing. (Don’t worry about the Pack sign-up on that form; that’s my job.) Here is the Webpage that describes it.

Also, Webelo Woods will be the weekend May 1-3 at Bert Adams in the Jamison campground. Webelos and Bear Cubs (boys who will be in 4th and 5th grade next Fall) are eligible for this activity. The theme is “Go the Distance” which refers to going the distance to the Arrow of Light. Here is the Webpage that describes it.

We will be signing campers up for both events at the NASCAR Pack Meeting this Tuesday, March 24th before and during the race. This will be your last opportunity to sign up without making an extra trip later.

Please bring your checkbook or cash to pay for this activity. Here is how to compute how much it will cost: $10 times the number of persons in your family who will be eating Pack cooking. That is probably everyone over two years old in your family. (We will not be discounting for partial weekends; the bookkeeping and math is too hard for our brains.) Then for Spring Family Camping, add $10 for every sibling in your family (not a Cub Scout) who will be partaking in the activities. That is probably all siblings between about 4 and 10 or 11 years old. Pack 565 and Cub Scouts encourage siblings to participate!

If you don’t have yellow tee-shirts yet (Scouts, siblings, or parents), we’ll also be selling those at the NASCAR race ($5 for kids; $8 for adults). We have all sizes.

Finally, we need a few volunteers to help staff our camping sign-up table and to sell tee-shirts. Come about 20-30 minutes early on Tuesday if you can.
